MF Husain muses remember Husain saab

The legendary artist’s muses Amrita Rao and Anushka Sharma talk about the man they admired, and who admired them too
Amrita Rao was probably the last B-town celeb to meet MF Husain. She met him last month when she was vacationing in Dubai. She says, “He was the most alive man that I have known. His energy was infectious. He never ever allowed his passion to become a routine and always looked forward to living life.I used to constantly tell him that he is more energetic than the youth of today. When I met him, he was so chirpy. We had a great time bonding. But after I came back to India, I heard that he was unwell. I tried to reach him, but couldn’t. His family was really taking care of him. They are in my prayers. I mourn with them and the rest of the world.”
Anushka Sharma, the last muse of Husain, says, “I had the opportunity to talk to Husain saab two months ago and was looking forward to meeting him sometime this year. It is distressing news and I hope God gives his family strength at this time. I was honoured to be his last muse but regret that we could never meet.”
